Looking Good So Far – This 2014 version of the Brewers thus far this early season have been exceeding expectations & that is putting it mildly. We’ve had late inning thrillers ending in wins, a bullpen which has been surprisingly solid & the inexplicable resurgence of K-Rod as a viable closer. As @simplekindoffan said, getting excited about mid/late April Power Rankings is an exercise in futility but whether it’s ESPN, SI.com or CBS Sports the Brewers sit atop or very high in everyone you read. So the big question is this early season performance a fluke or something we can look forward to all season. I’m being cautiously optimistic right now & thinking it’s somewhere in the middle but leaning towards the later. I don’t think the bullpen will implode like it did last year & the offense will go through some slumps but feel there is enough talent up & down the order to mitigate bad spells at the plate by one or two players. The NL Central is a tough division & I’m not about to say the Brewers will stay on top all season but if they keep up the play they’ve displayed so far the idea of October baseball isn’t out of the question.
