Unfortunately, the answer is probably yes.

As this is my first post, I feel it is my civil duty to warn you I am so anti-Lebron James it hurts.
I’m not sure if this is because I grew up watching my cool Uncle idolize the GREATEST player of all time (Michael Jordan) or that I just refuse to jump on the LBJ bandwagon.
Either way, I am mentally preparing for the hate comments that will result from this post.

During the past months or so I have developed the world’s largest Kevin Durant crush*.
Why? I believe he is the kryptonite for ESPN’s sick obsession that is Lebron Raymone James.
A “cool” dunk by this overachiever has overshadowed how many retirement announcements, trades, and sports stories I actually care about??? COME ON.
(* strictly based upon basketball playing abilities, not actual romance.)

Although Miami chalked up the “W” last evening, Durant continued to prove himself as a strong contender for this year’s MVP award. Here are the final numbers from their last meeting posted by SB Nation’s Chris Hanneke:

Durant: 33 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals
James: 34 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assist, zero steals

Hm…

Is the Slim Reaper a legitimate threat to King James? I sure think so.
I am truly excited to see how the rest of the season plays out- as my new favorite rivalry keeps the NBA entertaining.
