See What I Did There? – This weekend the Vikings come to Lambeau Field in what really is a must win for the Packers if there is any hope of post-season play for the team. Minus the ever present threat of Adrian Peterson, it is still the Vikings so even without Aaron Rodgers a win is very possible. That hinges on two things though, better ball security by Scott Tolzien & just better play by the defense. I’ve been a staunch supporter & defender of Tolzien but I will recognize he must do a better job of not turning the ball over. If Tolzien can correct that issue he is more than a serviceable back-up QB. As for the defense, there’s just too many things to cover so basically they just need to get their act together, from Dom Capers all the way down to the players on the field. If those two things can come together the Packers should, while perhaps not easily, at least win on Sunday. If that doesn’t happen, it’s unthinkable because a loss to the Vikings in Lambeau is a horrifying thought no matter how you look at it.
Before the Vikings come to town, the Badgers will head to Minnesota to take on the Gophers & look to retain Paul Bunyan’s Axe. I said yesterday, I’m really looking forward to this game & think it will be a great one with of course the Badgers ending up on top. The UW hoops team will also be in action later on Saturday as will the Bucks. To everyone out there that will be heading to the woods this weekend for the opening of the Wisconsin gun deer season, be careful out there and best of luck in bagging that 30-point buck. Enjoy the weekend and we’ll see you back here Monday morning.
