Midway Through The Season Quick Review – We’re entering Week 9 of the NFL Season which sets us right smack dab in the middle of the regular season. The Packers currently sit at 5-2 & atop the NFC North so while it hasn’t been perfect it’s still pretty good. For yet another year, the Packers are dealing with a glut of injuries to key playmakers but yet again they seem to be overcoming them. Credit Ted Thompson for putting a deep team out there but just as much credit to the coaching staff for figuring out ways to use the players they have in lieu of the starters. As I tweeted out Sunday night, it’s taking some getting used to but for the first time in a long time the Packers are balanced offensively between the run & the pass which makes for a very dangerous & fun team watch. Eddie Lacy has to be in contention for Offensive Rookie of the Year, guy has just been fantastic thus far. Defensively you have to give props to Dom Capers & what he’s calling up especially after the last two years of somewhat suspect scheming. Looking ahead, the only two teams I see being bona fide challenges are the Lions & Cowboys so even with losses to those two (which won’t happen) we’re looking at 12-4 & Packers football in January
