Under Center Will Be Solid – I know I’ve touched on this topic before, but after reading this article by Gary D’Amato about UW commit Austin Kafentzis I got pumped up about it again. A dual-threat QB, Kafentzis is already being compared to Johnny Manziel & Russel Wilson. That’s some high praise right there for a kid who is only a Junior in High School right now. Another great part of the article is hearing how Alabama called Kafentzis three times the day he gave his oral commitment to the Badgers. Overall, Kafentzis seems to be a solid kid who’s had some good coaching & parenting & I tend to believe what I read about how there’s no way he’d de-commit to UW. Now, I realize we won’t see Kafentzis until 2015 & who knows how long till we’ll see him under center so you have to temper your excitement a bit as there will be a wait. That being said, it’s simple great to know the Badgers (who also have another hot dual-threat QB coming in for 2014 in D.J. Gillins) will have some serious strength in a position that historically was not been one.
