Showdown in Columbus – Tomorrow, the Badgers have a daunting task against the stout Buckeyes of Ohio State. I really like what Gary Andersen has done in his short time in Madison. On the flip side, Urban Meyer has quickly turned around the Buckeyes into contenders again. Many pundits have the Buckeyes as National Championship favorites behind the spectacular play of Braxton Miller.
The key match ups in tomorrow’s game will involve how Andersen’s new 3-4 defensive scheme can handle the dynamic play maker that Braxton Miller is. The Badgers are the only base 3-4 defense in the Big 10, so it’s not something the Buckeyes have routinely seen. However, Urban Meyer came to the Buckeyes before a stint in the 3-4 dominated SEC, so he’ll know how to prepare his offense. Plus, lest us not forget the Gary Andersen was on Meyer’s coaching staff at Utah, so he’ll know how to handle any wrinkles Anderson may come up with.
We all know the Badgers offense is explosive and they’ll score points. We just need the Badgers defense to step and keep the game within reach for the offense to squeak out a victory.
It’ll be entertaining to watch. Let’s hope for the best.
