For All The Marbles – If you’re a Badgers fan, you’ve had this weekend’s game against Ohio State circled on the calendar since the schedule came out. Besides the simple fact it’s Ohio State & any self-respecting Badgers fan despises OSU this game will more likely than not determine who wins the Leaders Division & advances to the Big Ten Championship. The Badgers are underdogs here & rightfully so. The game is in Columbus & OSU is one helluva a solid team, not two ways around that. There’s a reason you play the games though & besides the fact I’m a complete Wisconsin homer I give the Badgers a puncher’s chance here for the road win. Melvin Gordon & James White are going to have to be phenomenal & Joel Stave will need to have solid outing in the passing game, i.e. mistake free, for a win to happen. On the other side of the ball, the defense is going to need to contain Braxton Miller (who appears will play) like they did last year & allow the Badgers offense to keep pace once the scoring starts. Can the Badgers upset the fourth ranked team in the nation? Sure they can. Will they? We’ll find out Saturday night.
Ed. Note: I will be out for the next few days & am handing over the reins of the Daybreak Doppler to Jay who was kind enough to keep things going in my absence. So make sure to keep to your normal morning reading habits as there may actually be something intelligent said down here in this space for once.
