Played Himself In – We expect great things from Aaron Rodgers so when he throws for 400+ yards we’re a little spoiled in that we say that’s just Aaron being Aaron. We all had high hopes from the running game this year with Eddie Lacy but the first dominating ground performance came from the person Lacy replaced, James Starks. Now, I realize that Washington’s run defense isn’t the best, but it was still just a great performance from the former starter Starks, many of whom including me, didn’t even think would be on the roster this year. We’ll need to wait to see if Lacy is cleared to play next week once he goes through all the concussion protocols but the question has to be asked, did Starks play himself into more of a prominent role with this performance on Sunday? You would have to think so & while I think Lacy once he returns will still be the official starter I would not be surprised to see his role diminished a bit so that Starks sees more of the field than anticipated. That is of course, unless what we saw from Starks was just one lucky day & we won’t know until next Sunday whether it was or not.
