Very Possible – In a season of disappointment you try to find anything that is a glimmer of hope for the Brewers. One of those glimmers is Wily Peralta & the way he’s been pitching of late. Peralta’s always had the stuff but it was just time that he needed to be able to become a good MLB pitcher. Early this year Wily was having issues but as of late he’s gotten things together & is pitching very well. Even in Sunday’s loss, he went 8 relatively strong innings minus a mistake in the third & giving up a home run. Leads to the question though, if Peralta can continue as he is now & makes a strong finish should he be in the running to the Brewers #1 in the rotation? I would say there’s a good argument for just that. Gallardo is really nothing more than a solid 2 or 3 & the same can be said for Lohse. We’ll have time before we see how next year’s starting rotation shakes out but as of right now Perlata would be my leading candidate to lead the pitching staff.
