Making The Hard Choices – Last week I wrote about how the Brewers should begin the process of selling sooner than later as this season really wasn’t going anywhere. Since then, even with last night’s loss, the Brewers have been stringing along some nice, solid wins. That being the case, there’s still too much ground to make up here & I hope those wins don’t give Melvin the illusion that perhaps the Brewers can still compete in the NL Central with what they have. There are going to be winning streaks but Melvin can’t let those hamper him from making the tough decision to trade some key players later next month if not sooner. Last year’s late run masked the bigger problems this team had, letting them think they could compete with the current roster. Wins are always more fun than loses, but it still doesn’t change the fact this team has serious holes which need to be addressed for future years and trading away players this year is the way to help sooth that pain.
