Can’t Believe I Typed That – You expected Ryan Braun to be his usual self, you hoped Jean Segura would take the next step but nobody expected what we’re seeing out of Yuni Betancourt.  We all gasped & cried out in anguish when we learned Yuni was coming back.  Now?  7 home runs, 22 RBIs & a solid .279 BA plus his defense isn’t atrocious.  So with Aramis Ramirez scheduled to return tonight I’m guessing we’ll see Yuni as our de factor first baseman.  Once Hart returns, what then?  If Betancourt maintains what he is doing now you almost have to look at inserting him in for Weeks if Weeks continues to underperform & trust me, it feels weird just thinking that.  I don’t think that will happen as Roenicke seems to think it’s against the law to not play Weeks no matter what his performance is, but it does make you think.  It’ll be interesting to see what happens if it comes to that.

That’s a wrap for another week here.  While it doesn’t look like it’ll be quite as warm as last weekend, still looks to be a pretty seasonable plus we have the most exciting two minutes in sports, the Kentucky Derby, to watch this on Saturday. Enjoy the weekend however you may spend it & we’ll see you back here Monday morning.
