Reason We Watch – If you ever wondered why people get so excited for the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament you only have to look to yesterday’s Marquette/Davidson game. Down 6 points with less than 2 minutes to go Marquette battled back, bringing it to the wire & behind by one point with seconds left on the clock & their season. Reminiscent of the game against St. John’s for a piece of the Big East title, Vander Blue was the hero driving to the hoop for a basket to give Marquette the lead & win. The waning seconds of that game are a perfect example of what makes this time of the year so much fun, even more special it was one of our local teams to provide the drama. The best part of it all? Three more days of this & that’s a beautiful thing. Today we’ll get to see the Badgers kick off their tournament as they take on Ole Miss which I hope for my blood pressure’s sake doesn’t go down to the wire like Marquette’s.
That’ll cap off another week here & I’d normally say something like enjoy the basketball action this weekend but that’s a foregone conclusion so I’ll just say best wishes for your bracket & see you back here Monday morning.
