College Hoops & Packers’ Playoff Football – Hopefully everyone made it through the first full week of 2013 intact & ready for the weekend. Tomorrow will be a good day for Wisconsin based sports teams too as both Marquette & Wisconsin basketball teams return to the hard-court. The Golden Eagles take on Pittsburgh at 11:00 am followed by the Badgers hosting Illinois at 1:15pm. Then of course Saturday night the Packers meet the 49ers in San Francisco, playing for an appearance in the NFC Championship Game. Obviously we all want and will be rooting for a Packers win which will in turn lead us to rooting for the Seahawks to knock off Atlanta on Sunday so the NFCCG will return to Lambeau. We’ll see how things shake out but I feel that is a very possible scenario.
With that wishful thinking, enjoy the games this weekend & the unseasonably warm temps before they drop back down into the 20’s. We’ll see you back here on Monday morning where hopefully we’ll be looking at one more Packers home game for the year.

Pains us to say it about our hated rivals, but the Pro Bowl system is clearly broken when the Vikings and Bears are tied for second most players in NFC heading to Hawaii, and the division winning Packers are only sending half as many. It pains us to say it, but it’s true.
