No Magic For Alvarez – The way the Rose Bowl started, with Stanford putting up a quick 14 points in the first quarter, you had to be thinking it would be a pretty long night for the Badgers. Wisconsin’s defense got stouter though & the offense was able to get on the board leaving the halftime score at 17-14 Stanford. The second half was pretty much a defensive battle with both teams stymying the other, forcing punt after punt after punt. In the end though, it was the Stanford defense getting the Curt Phillips INT to end the Badgers’ final drive & ruin what could’ve been a story book ending for the Barry led Badgers. It was a disappointing loss, no doubt about that, but we did get a chance to see Barry Alvarez on the sidelines one last time & the game turned out to be better than most expected. So good bye to another season of Badgers’ football, we’ll see you next Fall as we begin the Gary Andersen Era.
