I’m OK With It All – Sure, it was fun see the Josh Hamilton & even Greinke rumors but you really had to be delusional to even think for a minute those rumors had any validity to them. Then we hear how owner Mark Attanasio had pretty much set a hard cap on the payroll from this coming season, leaving little wiggle room for GM Doug Melvin to try obtain any starting level players. There have been some pick-ups but nothing Earth shattering by any means which may lead you to ask yourself, are the Brewers secretly in rebuilding mode for 2013 & just not acknowledging it? I’m going to say no to that question. Rather, I think the Brewers are being mindful & realistic of their financial situation & also trust in what they have. There’s nothing to worry about when it comes to the Brewers’ offense & while the backend of the starting rotation may be a bit on the young side there’s plenty of upside & potential to it. As long as Melvin can get a couple bullpen arms, I’ll feel fine about how the Brewers head into Spring Training in a few months & what they haven’t done this offseason.
