Made a Good Case For It – Like many on Sunday, when I saw TJ Lang go out with the ankle injury and undrafted rookie Don Barclay come in I thought the worse.  Lined up against Brian Robinson, a fair pass rusher, I figured Rodgers would be scrambling left and right for the rest of the game.  Low & behold, Barclay held his own though & many of our fears were unfounded. Beyond pass protection, Barclay also played well in the run game, helping to spring James Starks on his TD run on Sunday.  The question now will be whether or not Barclay stays in the starting line-up & Lang, should he be able to play this coming Sunday, get moved back to his natural spot at guard.  A lot of that will depend on Lang & his status but after seeing what I saw I wouldn’t be against seeing Barclay get the start.  The defensive line of the Lions is a bit more formidable than the Vikings though so I could see McCarthy sticking to the status quo, but you never know, perhaps Barclay did play himself into a starting role.  We’ll find out soon enough.
