Grand Scheme of Things – Yes, the Packers stunk stuff up on Sunday night, no doubt about it. That being said, I’m OK with this loss for a couple reasons. One, it wasn’t a divisional game, which is still winnable for Green Bay. Minnesota this coming weekend, then the Lions then the Bears. We’ll know at the end of that stretch whether the Packers will be a playoff team because of a division win or a wild card. Secondly, and this is pure fandom talking, if we’re going to lose to the Giants I’d much rather have it be in the regular season. There’s a chance, depending on how the Packers enter the playoffs, they could be facing New York again. I’d rather have a chip on the shoulder for that game vs an air of ‘beat them once can do it again’. The Sunday night game was ugly, but the only thing to do is put it behind us & start looking to the next 5 games & make sure the division is in reach and ultimately the playoffs.
