Exhibition True, But Still On the Court – The 2012-2013 Badgers’ basketball season sort of begins tonight with an exhibition game against UW-Oshkosh. As usual with the majority of Bo Ryan teams these past few years, this is a squad with talent & ability but not one overwhelming superstar. Now, before you go saying anything about Sam Dekker, yes I expect him to be something pretty special by the time it’s all said & done with, perhaps even this season but as of right now still unproven in my eyes. We’ll see how the season plays out, but I expect the Badgers to finish somewhere in the 4 to 5 range in The Big Ten & make the tournament once that rolls around. Individually, beyond seeing how Dekker matures at the college level, all eyes will be on George Marshall & how he runs the offense after the loss of Josh Gasser for the season. Marshall, after a shaky start during the Red/White scrimmage, by all accounts seemed to have a good showing so we’ll see how that translates once the real games start, which will on Sunday against Southeastern Louisiana.
