Let’s Try This Again – Besides having lost the game to the Spartans on Saturday, the Badgers also lost starting quarterback Joel Stave with a broken collarbone. Everything is pretty much pointing to this injury being a season ender for Stave which is really too bad as he was doing a very good job at leading this team. Now it looks like we’re back to where we started with transfer Danny O’Brien taking the reins. O’Brien began the season as the starting QB but then lost the job to Stave so perhaps this is a chance at redemption for O’Brien. I’m not entirely confident though based on what I had seen from O’Brien early on & I’m sure I’m not alone in that. There’s also the chance we may see some Curt Phillips too, but for better or worse I imagine we’ll see O’Brien with the bulk of the playing time. The Badgers, who are off this weekend, can still lock of a Big Ten Championship Game berth with a win over Indiana when they resume play, I’m just not so sure that’s going to be the given we once thought it may have been.
