New Day, New Game – Now that we’ve all had a day to gnash our teeth, hurl insults/threats/indignation into the ether & generally just be pissed off it was one game out of 16 & time to move on. I’m just as disturbed & angry as everyone else is about the phantom catch & everything that led up to it & continues to surround it but at this time there’s no point in dwelling on it. I’m sure the Packers, while still feeling the sting, are focused on the Saints coming into Lambeau this Sunday & personally that’s where my focus is too (not to mention Throwback Weekend II in general). Out of all the rage & vitriol I saw yesterday there was one theme which I did see that I can whole heartedly get behind. That theme was this ‘loss’ will hopefully create the team’s & fans’ rallying cry to say, yeah we got screwed but we’re putting it behind us & gonna kick ass from here on out. This exchange from Major League kept running through my mind yesterday & I think it’s apt for this situation:
Jake Taylor: Well then I guess there’s only one thing left to do.
Roger Dorn: What’s that?
Jake Taylor: Win the whole effing thing.
Sounds about right to me.
