Defense & Special Teams Carry the Day – Things started out a little slow last night & a little concern had to creep in as the Packers offense seemed just a bit out of sync. The defense though from the start was solid & overbearing which balanced that out. It was a special teams fake FG & touchdown by Tom Crabtree that ignited the scoring though & surprised the hell out of everyone. Soon after that Rodgers hooked up with the venerable Donald Driver for the second TD of the game & all seemed right again. As exciting as both Packers’ touchdowns were, it was the defense that was the star of this game. There was pretty much constant pressure on Bears QB Cutler with 7 sacks & four interceptions for the night. You also have to happy with what you saw out of the running game as Cedric Benson consistently produced yards on the ground, something we’re not all that accustomed to seeing. It’s OK to be a little concerned with the passing game right now, but we can put that aside for at least today & just savor the win over the Bears and a Victory Friday to usher in the weekend.
This weekend the Badgers will be playing at home Saturday night & hopefully we’ll see better results than last weekend and we also appear to have a Wild Card chase to be paying attention to with the Brewers. Enjoy the couple days off and we’ll see you back here Monday morning.
