September, Time for Call Ups – Both Wily Peralta & Tyler Thornburg will be entering the starting rotation for the Brewers after their call ups. As I’ve said before, especially for a team which is only playing for pride & perhaps to be a spoiler, it’s these types of things which keep the interest there for me. Both of these guys had been up with the big club, but now they’ll have a rather extended look closing out the season. Thornburg was up with the club not too long ago & didn’t pitch poorly so he’ll have the chance to build on that experience. It was last April when Perlata was up & I really don’t recall how he performed off the top of my head so I’ll look forward to taking a fresh look at him. Both pitchers have potential so a strong end of the year showing here could go a long way to starting in The Bigs come next Spring.
