Helluva Buy – When the Brewers locked up Jonathan Lucroy this Spring with his contract extension I was pretty happy. I would say right around now, Doug Melvin is even happier. Lucroy is on a torrid pace right now, not only hitting with power but more importantly getting hits when the Brewers really need them. There’s a lot of season left to be played & it would be a lot to hope for Lucroy to continue the pace he’s on, especially playing the position he does. Even if Lucroy does drop off a bit, his extension will still remain perhaps the steal of the year & Melvin’s best move this year.
