Mark Is The Man – In this article by Jon Heyman about the chances of Grienke being signed by the Brewers in his Free Agency period, Brewers owner Mark Attanasio has a great quote: I am a creature of the market, so I am attuned to the market. Attanasio knows how things work & he doesn’t sugar coat it.  He’s realistic about what mostly likely will happen once Grienke hits the market next year & he admits it.  Sure, Attanasio does the dance, the same one that Grienke is doing saying how much he loves Milwaukee, about wanting to re-sign Zack but he won’t do it to the detriment of the team.  You hear a lot about the ‘winning culture’ from Attanasio & it’s true he’s done a ton to create that, something we’re all happy about.  What I appreciate just as much is that Attanasio is willing to make hard decisions should they need to be made, to insure the Brewers stay competitive as a small market team, not break the bank in the process & ultimately not but the team’s future in jeopardy doing so.
