Open To Safety Now – For awhile it’s been assumed by many Packers fans that Charles Woodson did not want to be moved to Safety. Yesterday though on Green & Gold Today Woodson seemed to now be open to that idea. It seems his concern, one I think we’d all agree on, is who would take his spot at corner opposite Tramon Williams. In his rookie year Sam Shields shined but seemed to regress a bit last year & the Packers did draft corner Casey Hayward in the 2nd this year but would have a lot to learn. So there are definitely questions to answer here to see if Woodson can make that switch to replace Nick Collins in the backfield. Beyond the benefits to the Packers this move could provide, when I heard Woodson’s words it only solidified further my opinion of him as a player & person. For someone who was rumored not to be enamored with the idea of coming to Green Bay in the first place, Woodson is definitely the epitome of ‘Packer People’ now.
