You Can Almost Smell The Tailgating – Here we sit one day away from the beginning of the Milwaukee Brewers 2012 season. Sure, I realize there was a game in Japan to technically open the season, the Cardinals took on the Marlins last night & there are several games tonight. As far as I’m concerned though, the season really won’t start till tomorrow when the Brewers open up. A lot of questions for our National League Central Defending Champs coming up here. Will Gamel & Ramirez be able to offset the lost offensive production from the departure of Prince Fielder? Can Braun put away the offseason distractions surrounding him & have a solid year? Can Rickie Weeks stay healthy for an entire year? Should the Brewers be able to get this far, can they avoid the late season pitching meltdown that doomed them in NLCS?
At this particular moment in time, I don’t really care one bit about any of those questions. All I care about is tomorrow afternoon I’ll be able to listen to Uecker call a Brewers game that counts, if I get home early enough I can go out on my deck (no matter the temp) beer in hand & continue listening to the game and most of all…that Brewers baseball is back.
