Lucroy in the Fold – It was official announced yesterday that Brewers’ catcher Jonathan Lucroy signed a 5 year contract extension.  Of this news I couldn’t be happier.  Lucroy is a solid player at the position, a position which the Brewers have in recent years before last always been suspect at.  Think back to Greg Zaun, Johnny Estrada & Jason Kendall and you have to feel good about this as well. Besides being an above average offensive player, Lucroy also calls a solid game behind the plate (no matter what Randy Wolf may think). There’s a good solid nucleus of this team signed for a while now & if Melvin & Company can get Greinke back in the fold as well the future beyond just this year doesn’t look too bad at all.
