One To Rule Them All – A about a month ago in the this space I used this space here to rank the coaches from the ‘major’ Wisconsin sports teams.  For some reason or another I was thinking about that & realized there may very well be one coach that would surpass all of them, still to this day even though he’s not coaching anymore – Barry Alvarez.  Now a days Alvarez spends his time as the AD at Wisconsin but before then he took what was a perennially a mediocre at best Wisconsin football program and turned it around to be a perennial Rose Bowl contender.  With Alvarez and then work he did back in the 90′s there’s no way Wisconsin football is a consistent Top 25 team or a place where recruits actually want to come and play today.  So even now although he’s not an active coach, I think I would put Barry Alvarez at the top of that list or at least at the top in an emeritus status.
