Ultimate Closure – I watched the Packers at Kansas City from the comfortable confines of @TommyKGB ‘s garage along with him & the estimable Kyle Cousineau. One of our discussions that day was as to whether or not to go to Indy for the Super Bowl. At no point in that conversation was it even a question as to whether the Packers would be playing in the Super Bowl, it was just a given, even for someone like me who can sometimes be on the pessimistic side of being a realist. For me that’s what makes this Sunday’s game a little unbearable. I’ve come to terms with the Packers playoff exit but in the back of mind always knew there would be this one last hurdle to get over…the Super Bowl without the Packers playing in it. As many of you know, I spent Super Bowl XLV in a hospital bed so a big part of the reason I was looking so forward to seeing the Packers return to the big game is I would be watching it NOT at St. Marys, enjoying the game with friends & you know…having a beer (although the morphine last year was a good substitute). Alas, it wasn’t meant to happen. So once the final seconds click off the clock on Sunday & the confetti falls on whoever I’ll be able to ultimately come to closure with the 2011 Packers season & begin to look forward to the next one.
The final Pocket Doppler Prognosticators of the year where we’ll be sharing our Super Bowl picks so stay tuned for that later today. I bid you all adieu, root for the Badgers to upset Ohio State tomorrow & have fun watching the Super Bowl. We’ll see you back here Monday morning.
