Yes – I for one couldn’t have been happier about the news of Prince Fielder finally getting signed by a team.  My happiness resides on several levels on this topic.  First, I’m thrilled Fielder got signed to an American League team. While I wouldn’t have held any grudges had he been in the National League I simply didn’t want the Brewers to have to face him as I’m all too aware of what he can do with a bat.  Secondly, I was getting really tired of hearing non-updates on almost a daily basis. Lastly…closure.  We all knew the Brewers weren’t going to be able to contend for Fielder’s services anymore, but once those ‘one year’ rumors started many Brewer fans I think started to get some hopes up.  Hell, I even did although I dismissed them pretty quickly.  So the Prince Fielder chapter of the Milwaukee Brewers is finally, officially closed.  Thanks for the memories Prince, it was nice while it latest, but glad we can move on from it now.
