Throwback Weekend Update: Getting Our Ducks In A Row
Just a quick update on some recent time changes and what not for Throwback Weekend, which will soon be upon us. So to recap, here’s what we have:
Saturday, October 15th: Tweet-up at The Abbey Bar in De Pere, WI starting at 7:00 pm. We changed the start time of this and moved it up a half an hour to allow more time for mirth, merriment, shenanigans & hijinx. We have the entire upper level of The Abbey Bar reserved for us and I would suggest perhaps getting there as early as you can as you never know who may be there to greet you. All you need to bring is yourself & the ability to have a good time.
Sunday, October 16th: Tailgate at The Green Bay Distillery starting at 8:00-8:30 am. This time has also changed, primarily because of some of the nightmare stories that came out of trying to get in to Lambeau during the last home game & the new security procedures. We’re supplying brats & burgers, but if you’re able please bring a dish to pass or plan on chipping in some cash if you can. You are also responsible for you own beverages, although there may be a surprise or two on that front as well. Postgame party will also be at The Green Bay Distillery.
If you haven’t signed the roster sheet yet, please do so to help us with head counts.
Weather: As of right now we’re looking at mid to high 50′s Saturday & low 60′s Sunday.
General: We’ll be accepting donations both Saturday & Sunday night, with any extra proceeds going to the Wisconsin Early Autism Project. If you’d like, you can donate ahead of time as well. Please also make sure to be taking care of our bartender Saturday night at The Abbey, whether you are drinking the ‘free’ beer or not. If you purchased a name badge or t-shirt track down myself or Brian and we’ll get that item to you Saturday night.
Lastly, Be Smart: We’re all looking forward to this weekend, it truly is a first of its kind and hopefully the start of an annual event. Let’s also be honest here, there is going to be a lot of drinking going on, not even going to bother sugar coating that. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be smart about how you make your way back to your homes or hotels Saturday &/or Sunday night if you’ll be drinking. This past Summer at my annual Mastersingers reunion in Maine one of the guys got pulled over for an OWI and let me tell you, that pretty much killed the mood very quickly & I would hate to see something like that happen here. Both Kyle & I live in the area so we’ll be more than happy to help you find a cab to call. So be smart, that’s all I’m saying.
Think that’s all for now folks, less than 9 days away. Please direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
