Let’s start this morning off with the good stuff, shall we? The Badgers rolled in their season opener, beating UNLV 51-17 at Camp Randall last night.
In his first game as a Badger, QB Russell Wilson looked very good, but as always the Badgers are still a run first offense.
The Packers were also in action last night with their final preseason game of the year, beating the Chiefs 20-19.

Three Parting Thoughts Into Your Labor Day Weekend
Badgers – Three Words: Good Opening Statement. Russell Wilson looked sharp, the running game phenomenal and the defense suspect at times in last night’s Badgers game. All in all though you have to pretty happy with what you saw from Bucky & the team has some time to sort out its defensive lapses before the Big Ten portion of the schedule starts.
Packers – Two Words: Vic So’oto. Wow, talk about a making your case to be on the final Packers roster. This weekend will make some people happy, others sad as the Packers cut down to the final 53. It’ll be a nervous Saturday for a lot of guys but So’oto shouldn’t be one of them.
Brewers – One Word: Suckitude. As Bob Uecker said on yesterdays’ broadcast, the Cardinals came prepared to play this series. Maybe this is a good wake-up call type situation for the Brewers & not to get complacent. It was disappointing for sure, but the Brewers are still 7 and half up in the Central & should be looking for payback next week when they head to St. Louis.
And with that we end another week, heading into a long weekend. Hope you all have a terrific & safe Labor Day weekend and we’ll see you back here on Monday for a most likely abridged Daybreak Doppler.
