BackBackBackBackBack…blech – A repeat HR Derby title just wasn’t in the cards for Prince Fielder last night, nor was a new one for Rickie Weeks. Yes, the ‘Derby’ is purely an entertainment vehicle with no real life baseball impact but it’s still cool when a player on your team wins it. What’s really amazing though was my Twitter feed was filled with as many Chris Berman bashing tweets as there were tweets about the ‘competition’…well, maybe it’s not that amazing. All-Star game tonight, then a day off before the real season starts back up in earnest.

Berman made me turn down the sound after a 420 ft HR was declared to be going to Yuma. I knew a silly suburb reference was coming, and it was my predetermined breaking point. Terrible, terrible job by Berman.
To be fair, what is there really to be said? (Oh, there’s another one! Wow, that’s a moonshot!….) If they insist on continuing to hold this passe exhibition, they should simply broadcast it without any commentary.
