A Brewers Sweep, Frozen Twinkies, and Minka Kelly

Whether you’re die-hard, fair-weather, a bandwagon fan or communist, it was impossible — as a Wisconsin sports enthusiast – to miss what the Milwaukee Brewers did to the the Minnesota Twins this past weekend. Sure the Twins are hurt, on the road and manager Ron Gardenhire can’t seem to figure out what to do with Robin Williams in “Jack” Joe Mauer, but a sweep is a sweep. Just like Carlos Gomez being credited for a double and his average ticking upwards even after he gets thrown out attempting to stretch barely a single into a triple, or something.
After a couple of shoddy series versus the Cubs, Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, beating up the down-&-outs was a must. To the tune of a 21-6 run differential, W’s from each of the three starting pitchers — Wolf, Gallardo, Narveson — and Milwaukee pushing their 1st place record to 44-35, the Brewers did just that.
All in all, it was a nice weekend.
Cody Christie (@NodakTwinsFan), who blogs about the Twins for Minnesota Sports Zone, attended the Milwaukee-Minnesota series, and he snapped a picture at Miller Park on Sunday that is both metaphorically hilarious and delicious at the same time:

You get it? Because the Twins are really bad – close to dead actually — and the Twinkies are in a freezer…
Okay long story short (too late), the Twins aren’t very good. If the Brewers hope to continue to contend in the NL Central, they need to beat up on teams like Minnesota. They did. Good job, well done, let’s move on to the formidable Yankees, take two of three, continue to prove my pessimism wrong, and shovel a bit of dirt onto the grave that is Derek Jeter’s future with New York. Yes, Minka Kelly is gorgeous, but I would much rather date Coach Taylor’s daughter than Jason Street’s ex. Ah, sorry…Envy is an ugly trait. I’m on step 3 of 12.
Enough.
But you get why the picture is funny, right? Because the Twinkies…They are cold…Anyone? Nothing?
[Note: I just arrived home from being in Ireland/Europe for 40 days following college graduation, and I seem to have left my brain somewhere amongst the rioters in Athens. Forgive me for the utter lack of depth. I'm hoping to work my way back into semi-competency and posting regularly in the coming days. Just glad to be back and hope you'll have me. Is the NFL lockout over yet?]

The prodigal son returns.
Glad to have you back, young man. Somebody needs to pick up the slack around here.
Haha, thanks fellas. But from the look of the new format and set up, PD is only getting better and better. Just glad to still be a very, very small fraction of it.
Now, how to manage completing a running diary of the entire NFL lockout…
Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! How nice it is to have you back….. Any Live Running Diarys for any of the Brewers GAmes?????? Like a nice 20 inninng run?
Ah, I’d love to…But sadly, I don’t get FSN, ESPN, or any channels that feature baseball on a daily basis. Saw a few minutes of Roger Federer on one of the local channels today and considered crafting a post about tennis. But, um, I think they want me to try and gain readers not drive them all away.
Wally,
I think we all need to chip in and get Rich cable sports before he’s scarred for life.
