So this is the same team that couldn’t win on the road?
The Milwaukee Brewers got their 1000th win as a National League team and beat the Florida Marlins 7-2, completing a 4-game road sweep against the team that had been the Wild Card leader entering this series.
Sure, it’s too early to talk about playoffs, unless you are Allen Iverson, but any ball club that can figure out how to win the close road games should feel good about the team they constructed.
Prince Fielder added all the offense the team needed with an early 3-run home run, his 14th of the season. They spread 10 hits across the board against the Marlins, and just genuinely looked good. The first 3 games of the series were nail-biters, but this was over almost from the beginning.
Zack Greinke pitched 7 reliable innings, not his greatest work, but certainly optimistic. Tim Dillard and Sergio Mitre ate up the rest of the innings and helped the team turn in a complete performance to put a stamp on a 5-2 road trip that included an earlier visit to Cincinnati.
Current Brewer Shaun Marcum faces former Brewer Chris Capuano to start a home stand vs. the New York Mets.

Can’t wait to see how the home stand turns out. They should have some good crowds this week to show their stuff.
