Hopefully everyone survived the absence of the “250 or Less” during the Brewers’ late night road trip. Glad the team is back in the Central Time Zone, though that didn’t stop the game from approaching midnight.

The Milwaukee Brewers kicked off a lengthy stretch at Miller Park in an exciting way. The Brewers and the Colorado Rockies went a full 14 innings before Milwaukee won in dramatic fashion, 7-6.

Zack Greinke turned a strong start into a bit of a struggle. His day lasted 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits. The bullpen took some abuse, but that pain was certainly shared by the Rockies. Milwaukee went through 5 other pitchers, including Mike McClendon who got the win. The Rockies went deeper into their bullpen, drawing up 7 different pitchers and got hit with 2 blown saves added to 2 fielding errors.

The game was back and forth most of the way until extra innings. Casey McGehee and Yuniesky Betancourt each hit comeback home runs, but none was more clutch than Prince Fielder’s 2-run walk off homer. He was mobbed at home plate by a team that could have easily lost this game, but instead they’ll celebrate a hard-fought won.

Tomorrow is Shaun Marcum for the Brewers. That is of course unless you followed tomorrow’s coming “Rapture” on Twitter and believe in all the hype. In that case, enjoy the victory, it will be the last thing you ever do.
