The Milwaukee Brewers’ first multi-city road trip ended on a down note as they lost the final game against the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3.
Chris Narveson pitched nearly 5 innings of a no-hitter and was looking unstoppable until the Phillies tied it up with a 3-run home run in the 6th. The Brewers struck early against former Cy Young winner Cliff Lee, getting a run in the first off a string of hits.
For the second game in a row, the Phillies committed an error that created scoring opportunities for Milwaukee. It wasn’t enough as the bullpen gave up the go-ahead run in the 8th. The Brewers had 10 hits on the game but only 2 after the 5th inning.
Milwaukee returns home after finishing 4-4 on the 8 game road trip. The next three series’ come against division opponents, with the first one being the Houston Astros. Yovani Gallardo is the probable starter on Friday.
If you’re going to the Brewers game on May 14th or perhaps want to go to the game, Pocket Doppler is participating in an event where you can meet Brewers’ Assistant GM Gord Ash as well as Trenni Kusnierek from WTMJ (formerly FSN & MLB Network) and Will Carroll from SI.com. The price has dropped and you can get access to the event & a game ticket for only $40 (includes food, door prizes, etc) or for just $25 you can attend the event if you’re already going to the game. Myself, Wally & John will all be at the event and it sounds like it’ll be a pretty fun time. More info here if interested: http://bigleaguetoursmilwaukeeparty-pocketdoppler.eventbrite.com/
