Dreamy Dudes of Doppler: A Footy
So here we are again, on a Tuesday. I’d like to say that I’m just genius and wanted my pick to be this person and it made more sense as a Tuesday post than a Monday post, but that would be a lie. You try buying a house, planning a charity golf event and new fundraising drive…but I digress. I realize that out of most of us, I am rather lonely when it comes to my appreciation/love for soccer. But today, I don’t care. I also realize that this is less of a midday post, but again, let’s revolve around my life here peeps, doctor’s appointment will prevent me from posting later.
Last weekend my beloved Chicharito scored glorious two goals for Manchester United while starting place for Berbatov. Chicharito es mi amor.
First off, Chicharito is not his given name. It means little pea. That’s just funny. His full name is Javier Hernandez Balcazar, but you wouldn’t know it as Chicharito is the name on the back of his jersey.
I fell in love with Chicharito when he played for Chivas de Guadalajara. When I lived in Redwood City, CA all the kids told me I wasn’t cool unless I liked Chivas. So when pre-world cup, it was announced that my favorite little pea would be crossing the ocean to join my favorite English team, I was thrilled.
Today, he will most likely start back on the bench as my mighty Manchester United take on floundering Chelsea in a much delayed match from earlier this season. It’s kind of a big deal, ManU can put more points between itself and second place Arsenal, and Chelsea needs the points to stay in the Champions League discussion for next year. But I’m sure none of this matters to most of you, so here’s some pics.
First off, he’s funny.
Second, he’s great at….winning.
