Sowing The Seeds – One of the things I look forward to this time of year are the mock NCAA Tournament Brackets which start popping up right around now. Like mock NFL Drafts, most of these are about as accurate as my son’s aim at the toilet bowl, but they’re still interesting & fun to look at. So far from what I’ve seen the Badgers seem to be ‘locks’ and generally are anywhere from a 3 to a 5 seed. Where it gets interesting is when looking at Marquette’s chances. I’ve seen the Golden Eagles making it and usually sitting in the 11-12 range as well as not getting in at all. Both teams have 4 games left and while Wisconsin can really only hurt their seeding, Marquette is basically playing for their tournament lives. While I am first & foremost a Badgers fan, I don’t hate on Marquette (unless they’re playing UW) and when it comes to the Tournament am rooting for them to get in because it’s good for basketball in the state of Wisconsin. Less then 3 weeks out from Selection Sunday so we’ll see what happens between now and then.
