Milwaukee Bucks Mid-Week Report – Week 17
Some nasty weather and a “twice as long as usual” drive from Madison to Milwaukee couldn’t stop a bit of basketball news.
Welcome to the Week 17 Version of the Milwaukee Bucks Mid-Week Report:
A slow week due to the NBA All-Star break shortened up the available news, but the Milwaukee Bucks had a chance to enter their mini-vacation with a confidence boost over the Denver Nuggets. Despite any trade rumors or what players Denver’s team had, it would have been good win over a quality team. Instead of a victory, the Bucks went into the break with a bad taste in their mouths and nearly a week off to reflect on it. The break couldn’t have some at a more important time because the team badly needed a chance to regroup, gather their thoughts and try to understand why things have gone wrong all season long.
What We Have Seen:
A game after dishing out 12 assists, John Salmons had only 1 to go along with his season-high 33 points. He hit a hot streak and kept the team in the game late against Denver. Shooting streaks are great when they go well, but Salmons also made some rushed decisions late in the game, and a succession of bad shots led to Denver pulling away.
What We Have Not Seen:
A full 48 minute game from the Bucks. Despite playing strong fundamentals for a majority of the game, guys looked tired and sluggish down the stretch. Perhaps many of them were looking ahead to the break.
What We Wish We Could See But It Has Not Happened Yet So Therefore We Cannot See It:
We wish we could see some Brewers baseball to take our minds off of the NBA season. Some people argue the importance of the Milwaukee Bucks fighting for the playoffs while others would rather see the Bucks tank the season to attempt at a better draft pick in the NBA lottery. I’d like to hear what people think at this point of the season.
Some Stats to Know:
Last 10 Games: 2-8 Record (0-5 road, 2-3 home)
Next 10 Games: 3 Road (.512 Oppenent’s %), 7 Home (.455 %)
