Home Sweet Home – The Packers and Lombardi Trophy are back where they belong – Green Bay. For that matter so am I. For the few of you who don’t follow me on twitter or weren’t paying attention (I don’t blame you, there were more important things to be paying attention to), I was admitted to the hospital Saturday afternoon and then had surgery Saturday night to drain/remove a raging infection in my jaw/mouth caused by an unnoticed, misdiagnosed abscess (everyone thought it was a gland/lymphoid thing caused by a cold). Needless to say not how I planned my Super Bowl weekend. All in all though, I’m happy with the results all around and my Dad (the folks came to town to watch the game) came up to my room for the game so I didn’t watch it alone. I actually saw more overall coverage of the game and post-game stuff then I normally would have since I wasn’t jumping around celebrating (read: drunk) and also all the coverage yesterday as well. I was released early last night so just like the Packers, I’m back where I belong as well.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who messaged me on Twitter & Facebook with notes of encouragement, well wishes and everything in between. It was a tremendous comfort and also made me realize how thankful I am to be part of the Packers & Wisconsin sports online community.
