Obligatory ‘Thankful’ Post
If everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you too? No, I wouldn’t but seeing as everyone else is doing a ‘things I’m thankful for’ post today I’ll jump on that bandwagon. So here we go, things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.
I’m thankful that at least 3 out of the 5 sports teams I root for are relevant almost every year.
I’m thankful I live in a state where if I have 3-4 beers while watching a football game I am not frowned upon for drinking too much, but rather not drinking enough.
I’m thankful that I switched from Time Warner Cable to ATT U-Verse so I finally get the NFL Network.
I’m thankful for each and every person that visits PocketDoppler.com & doesn’t think it sucks…actually, I’m thankful for the people that think it sucks too as long as they keep coming.
I’m thankful for BigSnakeMan, Rich, Brian H, Anita, Colleen, Brian C, Chris, Jon & anyone else I forgot that has helped make PocketDoppler.com more than a one post a day site.
I’m thankful to the Journal-Sentinel for canning Sports Bubbler & its Morning Coffee so the Daybreak Doppler could take that space.
I’m thankful I have a job which allows me to actually spend time running this site.
I’m thankful I’m getting a chance to work with and introduce my sons to sports, both on the field and off.
I’m thankful I have a partner that gave me those two sons and for some odd reason sticks around & supports me.
I’m thankful my yellow lab didn’t chew up my Packers hat this year, letting me instead forget it in a hotel room in Eau Claire.
I’m thankful that the Wisconsin Sports Blogosphere is made up of such awesome people, it’s great interacting with you all on almost a daily basis.
I’m thankful Ted Thompson is much, much smarter than me when it comes to running a professional football organization.
I’m thankful that I’ll have the opportunity to see my folks & family this weekend. Hopefully you all will too…your folks & family I mean, not mine, although I’m sure you’d be welcome. Just bring your own beer/Old Fashion fixings, ok?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, make it a safe & enjoyable one.
