2010 High School Football Playoff Predictions

We are reaching late October and, aside from the WEAC Convention, nothing says autumn like the Wisconsin state high school football playoffs. Following are my divisional selections for state champions:
Division 1: Kenosha Bradford. The state’s second largest high school is loaded with college Division 1 talent, including running back Melvin Gordon.
Division 2: Franklin. Division 2 is loaded, but Franklin somehow beat Kenosha Bradford two weeks ago. Two state champs for the Southeast Conference.
Division 3: Catholic Memorial. CM has battled through a bruising conference schedule filled with solid Division 1 teams.
Division 4: Maple Northwestern. Score one for Northern Wisconsin…defeating Walworth Big Foot in the final.
Division 5: Darlington. The traditional power is back and will benefit from playing solid competition during the regular season.
Division 6: Edgar. Until a team figures out how to beat this bunch, they are the prohibitive favorite.
Division 7: Burlington Catholic Central. Their early loss to Division 2 Wilmot was not unexpected. Solid football team that would do well in Division 5 or 6.
