Daybreak Doppler: A Series Win, The World Cup & Big Expansion
This weeks Daybreak Doppler Dames theme is Female Athletes.
In somewhat thrilling fashion the Brewers beat the Cubs yesterday afternoon and won the series. It’s just three games out of 162 but a series win over the Cubs always feels good. Yesterday it was an unlikely hero on the fleet feet of Carlos Gomez and The Brewers Bar has more for you here.
Disciples of Uecker takes some time to analyze that final play of yesterday’s game.
So…Woodson asked for an extension, then he said he didn’t and now the Packers are just going to go ahead extend him?
On that theme, Ol’ Bag of Donuts says that the Packers will be hard-pressed to avoid paying Woodson.
Seeing as Nebraska will officially be joining the Big Ten today, vs yesterday when it was still just “allegedly”, here is A Quick Reference Guide to the Big Ten for Nebraska
While most of the impetus for Nebraska joining the Big Ten is about football, they also do have a basketball team and Hoops Marinara has an introduction to Nebraska Basketball to share with you.

I seem to be going here a lot this week, but they’ve had good stuff like this on Dick Moves by Movie Heros.
I don’t know if the title of this piece, 6 Sports So Manly They Make Brett Favre Look Like a Little Girl , is necessarily true because I would totally be in for a game of elephant polo any day.
Because you can never have enough hot foreign women – 60 Hot World Cup Fans
World Cup Thoughts - I would be lying if I said I’m not looking for to the World Cup action starting up. I look at the World Cup like I look at the Olympics. I am not a huge follower of Alpine Skiing, Bobsledding, Speed Skating or the Biathalon. I can tell you though for two weeks this Winter I was glued to the TV watching those events and others. Hell, on the last day of the 2010 Winter Olympics I sat and watched the entire Men’s Cross Country 50KM event…all 3+ tedious hours of it. I am a sports fan. If and when I can get a chance to see the very best atheletes in a sport compete – whether it be Skiiing, Swimming, Gymnasics or even Soccer, it demands my attention and gets me excited about watching it.
Thanks for stopping by this week, have a wonderful weekend and we’ll see you back here on Monday.
