In Doug We Trust - Over the weekend Brewers Owner Mark Attanasio pretty much said Doug Melvin was safe and it was up to Melvin as to the direction to take with Brewers skipper Ken Macha. I’ve been one of the people who haven’t been too critical of Melvin and don’t believe he is the problem, but rather Macha is. Melvin of course said all the right things, lending support to Macha and saying no change would be made immediately. That being said, if Melvin wants to keep that security he currently has from Attanasio, he better be prepared to pull the trigger on Macha should things continue to go downhill as well as be ready to trade a certain first baseman while his value is higher than it will be next year.
