Whatever euphoria and confidence Brewers fans may have had in the team after the Pirates series was quickly squashed as the Cubs came in to Miller Park and swept the Brewers. Brewers Bar has your recap from yesterday’s game and further thoughts on the the Chicago sweep.
In more pleasant news, and if you follow me on twitter you’ll know how I feel about this, Jeff Suppan was sent to the bullpen over the weekend.
Well, much to my chagrin it would appear that the new format of the NFL Draft was a success, can’t win them all. Depending on who you talk to, many will say the Packers 2010 Draft was a success with the central tenant of drafting for depth & the future. Let’s take a look at what the regular suspects had to say and go drafting one last time:
- Unpacked thought it was a good draft but now needs to make some trades to fill some remaining holes.
- Railbird Central’s knee jerk reaction after the draft.
- TotalPackers.com has your undrafted free agent round up.
- Brew City Sports has an overall draft recap.
- For a complete and insightful breakdown of all three days and the players picked, just go to Jersey Al’s Packer Blog, pretty much has it all there.
In non-draft related news, the Jets released LG Alan Faneca, Packergeeks makes a case for the Packers picking him up.

Final Draft Thoughts - As Mike aka ‘BigSnakeMan’ pointed out below the new format of the draft was a success with almost 20% more viewership than the previous 2 day weekend format. Can’t win them all I guess and if I am being honest it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. On the Packers draft itself, I can’t be too unhappy when you get what is arguably a Top 10 talent at spot #23 and while the Mike Neal pick was a head scratcher the pick of safety Morgan Burnett was solid. I would say out of those top 3 picks Burnett has the most chance of starting on opening day of the 2010 season. Of course, there is a long time between now and the beginning of the season so anything could happen, even dare I say a free agent or two joining the team.
