Daybreak Doppler: 20 Runs and Pick 23
This weeks Daybreak Doppler Dames theme is ‘2010 Top 5 Draft Picks’.
I know we have NFL Draft to talk about but the Draft comes every year, the Brewers knocking the snot out of the Pirates to the tune of 20-1 yesterday afternoon? That doesn’t happen every day or even year and it was the only 20-0 game since 1900. The Brewers completed a sweep of the series where the Pirates scrored one run….one. Disciples of Ueckerhas more on the shellacking.
Alright, let’s go Drafting now and take a look around the Interwebs on the Packers first round selection of Iowa OT Bryan Bulaga.
You can follow the newest Packer Tackle on twitter, poor dude probably crapped his pants at the number of followers he gained within an hour of being selected.
Aaron from CHTV was actually at the draft as a credentialed media-type person. He has a transcript of Bulaga’s press conference after being picked.
Ol’ Bag of Donuts is astounded not at the pick but that Bulaga was still available.
Brew Town Beat warns that thinking of Bulaga as a ‘big, old country boy’ because he went to Iowa would be a mistake.
Packers Lounge calls the pick Safe, but Solid.
The Bucky Channel has some mixed feelings on the Bulaga pick but over all is happy. He also seems to be the first one to make the Bulaga/Beluga link, was waiting for that.
Finally, Dave Heller of JSOnline Packers blog has scoured the Internet to get grades from the big boys on the Packers pick. Looks to be about an average of B+/A-.
Oh Thank God, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament will only be expanding by 3 more teams, expanding the field to 68.
I love my dogs, but some people take loving their pets a littlel too far when it relates to pampering them, dressing them up and more. This list is for those people: 10 Pet Products That Are A Sign Of Mental Illness

Consensus – If you actually take the time to read through all the Packers Blogosphere links on the pick of Bryan Bulaga the central theme is it was solid although not sexy or flashy pick. What was most surprising about how the draft unfolded is how many legitimate options were there for the Packers at #23. Dez Bryant, Kyle Wilson, Jerry Huges and more were all there and were all names that came up in the draft prognostications for the Packers. I’m pretty much in agreement with everyone, it was a solid pick in an area where the Packers needed someone.
Enjoy the rest of the draft as well as the Brewers/Cubs series this weekend (gasp, Suppan starts tonight) and we’ll see you back here on Monday.
