QUICK HIT: Stop the Whining

So the St. Louis Cardinals apparently took offense at the Milwaukee Brewers private run-off celebration after their 10 inning 1-0 victory over the Redbirds on Memorial Day. The gesture by the Brewers was a pointed comment at the umbrage the Cards have taken from Milwaukee’s penchant for untucking their jerseys after wins as a homage to Mike Cameron’s father. Really, as postgame celebrations go, I can hardly think of anything that would be more benign. I’m sure the Cards liked things a lot better a couple of years ago when they were routinely beating Milwaukee’s brains in. The fact that St. Louis is so bothered by something that should amount to nothing is a pretty good indication that the Brewers have gotten into the Card’s heads; something that the Brewers no doubt see as an added benefit. Who in the world made Tony LaRussa and the St. Louis Cardinals the arbiters of baseball etiquette, anyway? If they don’t want to see the Brewers celebrate at their expense, all they have to do is score more runs than Milwaukee. In the meantime, shut up and deal with it.

Tony LaRussa the arbiter of baseball etiquette? I’ll drink to that!
Perfect post. (Even if it is about baseball
)
