Happy April Fool’s Day

A year ago today Tom Crean accepted the Indiana men’s basketball coaching position. I heard the news while driving home from work…the first words out of my mouth were “April Fool’s!” to no one in particular. I guess not. It was time for Crean to move on…he was ready for a change and many Golden Eagle fans were also ready for a change .
I waited all day today for a sports-related April Fool’s Day gag to take place. Much to my chagrin, nothing materialized. This past year many newsworthy sports items have occurred that would make great April Fool’s topics. The Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl. Brett Favre coming out of retirement. Ned Yost fired with 12 games remaining. A-Rod’s assertion that he was “young and stupid”. Am I missing some others?
