QUICK HIT: Yesssss!!!!! He’s (all but) Gone!

Received a bit of news today that is sure to warm the heart of many a Green Bay Packer fan. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that Packers cornerback Jarrett Bush has signed an offer sheet with the Tennessee Titans. As a restricted free agent, the Packers have seven days to decide whether to match the offer in order to keep him. Since the Packers offered him the lowest tender which doesn’t require compensation if he signs elsewhere, it seems logical to conclude that they wanted him back but only on their terms. Here’s hoping the Titans structured their offer in a way that will save the Packers from themselves. While Bush was a credible player on special teams, which is likely why the Titans are interested, his failures in the Packers’ secondary were noteworthy and often catastrophic. It’s hard to imagine that the Packers will have much trouble finding a more worthy replacement for his spot on the team.

Why would it take them 7 days to let him go?
